For me one of the easiest things to photograph is flowers. They don’t run away when you snap a twig, and they are small which lends itself to the type of photography I really like… which is close-up and macro photography.
Each and every time I pick up the camera to photograph flowers I try to come up with unique and interesting ways to view the subject. Here in the flowers gallery you can find everything from roses, to flowers in the garden, to studio shots, to wildflowers. The studio shots can be the most challenging and the most fun. Take the “glowing daisy” shot for instance. I had 3 different lights set up on the subject, plus had to operate the camera to get that shot… however don’t you think it was well worth the effort?
When it comes to shooting flowers I try not to limit myself. I may be shooting flowers at the local botanical gardens, my own garden, or in a ditch next to a busy highway. Beautiful flowers can be found everywhere and you just have to take the time to capture them.
What I show on this site is just a very small sampling of my images and abilities. If you are looking for something specific and don’t see it on this site, please shoot me an email at kevin@kevinbatchelorphotography.com There is a chance that I might have it in my collection.
